Date: Tuesday 29th April – Saturday 4th May

It’s May 1997. Tony Blair has won the election and Katrina and the Waves have won Eurovision. Channel 5 is a month old. No one knows who Harry Potter is. Britain is the coolest place in the world.

At the local secondary school it’s a different story. Miss Belltop-Doyle can’t control her year 10s, Mr Pashley has been put in charge of a confiscated tamagotchi and Miss Turner is hoping that this muck-up day goes smoother than the last. Tobias, the German language assistant, watches on. Things can only get better.

Education, Education, Education is The Wardrobe Ensemble’s love letter to the schools of the 90s and asks big questions about a country in special measures, exploring what we are taught and why, and where responsibility lies. Three of our Teen group cast take on this exceptional play created by the brilliant Wardrobe Ensemble!

Suitable for ages 13+
Content guidance: Strong language, sexual references, lots of nineties music and broken promises

Date: Friday 9th – Saturday 10th May

We are VERY EXCITED to announce that the Royal Shakespeare Company’s First Encounters production of The Tempest will be coming to Silhouette on the 9th and 10th of May.
We would LOVE you to come along and watch and tickets will go on sale on Saturday 12th October from 8:00 am. It is pay what you can on the door or a £5.00 donation to our charity

Following the success of last year’s Romeo and Juliet, the latest in our series of First Encounters with Shakespeare productions makes Shakespeare’s play about families, magic and forgiveness relevant for a new generation of theatregoers.

This 80-minute version of The Tempest uses an edited version of the original play to create the perfect first introduction for young people aged 7-13 and their families.

The tour of First Encounters: The Tempest is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, which makes it possible for the RSC to expand its tour to work in partnership with more places across England.
